Who actually makes solar equipment in the Americas? This directory lists companies that manufacture panels, cells, wafers, polysilicon, inverters, batteries and trackers, grouped by country. Filter by product or search for a state.
Made in versus assembled in. Many panels labeled as made in a country are assembled there from cells made elsewhere. If domestic content matters to you, for a tax credit bonus or a buy local goal, ask the seller where the cells and wafers were made.
United States
The United States has the largest and fastest growing solar factory base in the Americas. Module capacity grew from about 8 GW to roughly 70 GW between 2022 and mid 2026. Capacity below is nameplate (the most a plant could make), from the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Manufacturing Map as reported in May 2026.

Brazil
Brazil is a huge solar market but imports almost all of its panels. The national solar association ABSOLAR has said only two domestic panel makers operate, supplying under about 3 percent of demand. Brazil does make much of its own racking, trackers, cables and electrical gear.

Central America, the Caribbean and the rest of South America
Across Central America, the Caribbean and the rest of South America there is little panel manufacturing today. Most equipment is imported, while local companies make mounting structures, electrical cabinets, solar water heaters and battery enclosures, and assemble systems.
